Nagarahole National Park Overview

Nagarahole National Park is known for it’s full of flora and fauna. Being located in Mysore, Karnataka, it covers rich wildlife-plants and animals. Nagarhole, located in the beautiful area of Coorg, is home to around 250 types of birds and other animals. Nagarhole is also called Rajiv Gandhi National Park. History of Nagarhole National Park Coorg

Nagarhole National Park gets its name from the Kannada words "Naga," meaning snake, and "Hole," meaning streams. This park was originally a private shooting area for the kings of Mysore. Authorities established it as a sanctuary in 1955, and many consider it one of the best-managed parks in India. In 1974, the area increased from 258 square kilometers to 643 square kilometers, including the Arkeri, Hatgat, and Nalkeri reserve woods in Kodagu. It became a national park in 1983.

Which safari is best in Nagarhole National Park Coorg?

You can enjoy three types of safaris here: car, bus, and boat. Jeep safari is best for finding animals, and boat safari is best for exploring water animals. A bus tour is not a good idea because you won't be able to see many animals on the bus.

Wildlife at Nagarahole National Park Coorg

The park is known for its diverse flora and fauna, including some rare species. Nagarahole National Park has several important animal species, including the Bengal Tiger, Indian Elephant, Indian Bison, Leopard, Sloth Bear, Four-Horned Antelope, and Indian Wild Dog. Nagarahole National Park also houses many species of deer, monkeys, snakes, and birds.It is one of the best places to visit in Coorg, offering tremendous landscape and biodiversity.

Sections in the Nagarhole National Park

Nagarhole National Park has many types of plants and animals. This could be helpful, but it might also confuse people who like to see particular views or take pictures of specific animals. To help tourists, the park is split into different areas:

The Kabini River surrounds the northern part of the park and provides most of the water. Because of this, many animals, mainly species like the four-horned antelope, the striped hyena, and the spotted deer, gather near the banks. You can also see herbivores here. Deciduous trees are very common here because it rains a lot.

The southeast area of the forest is usually dry, making it a great place for birding and spotting predators. More than 250 types of birds live here, including the Malabar grey hornbill, the Nilgiri wood pigeon, the greater spotted eagle, and the red-headed vulture.

The main area of the park is best known for the Kabini backwaters. If you want to see elephants, gaurs, and deer, this is the right place for you!

Streams, waterfalls, and hills mainly cover the western area. You might see some animals that live in trees and many bamboo and sandalwood plants.

•    Go to the “Tours” section on the website and click on it. You can see a drop-down menu where different tour packages will show. Click any one of them according to your wish and then a webpage will be redirected. You can select the “Starting City” and the “Trip Duration” in order to know the price for your trip. You will get a lot of options of tour packages which you may select according to your will. 
•    There will be some more options which you need to answer correctly in order to get the final price of your tour.

No. Someone trying to book a tour package does not need to make full payment. There are three options to make the payment - 30%, 50% or 100%. One can choose any of the above-stated options to book the package.

30% option - Initially customer has to pay 30% for the booking confirmation. Within 24 hours hotel vouchers will be shared. Upon the hotel vouchers receipt, the customer has to release another 20% of the payment. The remaining 50% amount should be released one day prior to your travel date.

50% option - Customer has to pay 50% for the booking confirmation. Within 24 hours hotel vouchers will be shared. The remaining 50% amount should be released one day prior to your travel date.

100% option - Upon 100% of the payment, there is no due from the customer. We will be happy to provide service.  

•    After the payment is successful the customer/client will find an auto-generated invoice. Apart from that,  a confirmation mail and message will be sent to the client’s mail id and number respectively from the assigned tour manager.

•    If a client is booking on behalf of a family member or a friend, then he/she will have to have the basic details about the traveler. Like the starting city of the journey, desired length of the trip, contact details, and some more. It is very easy and convenient to book on behalf of someone.
